Join national award-winning children’s performer Francie Dillon for a very special adult-focused concert onboard the Delta King, on Thursday, November 19, 2009, at 7:00 PM.
Many SacMoms know Francie Dillon from fairs and festivals, from library performances, or as the Voice of Fairytale Town. They know that Francie is lively, funny, and entertaining. Now, at this concert, you will not only enjoy Francie's performance, you will learn how she brings music, stories, and special programs to hospitalized and seriously ill children.
Dillon, in this one-of-a-kind program, will share with her adult audience the quirky, triumphant, and heart-warming stories behind her songwriting and national award-winning childrens music.
Proceeds from the Nov. 19 concert will benefit The Quiet Gift, which is dedicated to funding bedside and playroom visits to ill and disadvantaged children in hospitals and other care facilities, and to presenting entertainment programs for small groups of children with specific special needs. “Im honored to be a part of ‘The Quiet Gift’,” said Dillon, who for more then seven years has visited hundreds of children monthly in major hospitals throughout Northern California. “I feel like the mailman getting to deliver the goods, songs, and stories. I’m honored that my visits offer moments of pleasure and a measure of relief to even the sickest of children.”
