Holiday Pageant

Ages 4 months-Adults

The Little Miss Capital City Pageant (LMCC) is hosting the first LMCC Holiday Pageant

LMCC accepts payment by check or money order made out to LMCC.

General registration will begin September 4, 2009.

The pageant will be limited to no more than 40 contestants on a first come first serve basis.

Age Divisions:

Contestants who are ages 1 to 12 years-old will compete in the age group they will be eligible to compete in, July 10, 2010 during our production pageant.

Example: Contestant is 6-years-old the day of the Holiday Pageant. In June she will turn 7-years-old, which means she will be 7 when the July 10th, production pageant is held in 2010. She would compete in the 7-9 year-old age group, though she is still currently 6-years-old. (Please contact our office with questions via phone or Email)

Contestants ages 4mos-11mos will compete in the Baby Miss Division.

Awards:

Unlike most pageants, in the Little Miss West Coast/Little Miss Capital City Pageant System ALL contestants receive a minimum of one trophy. Overall winners in each age group will receive an Official Little Miss Capital City Sash, Tiara and Trophy.

Our overall grand prizewinner in the Little Miss Division ages 4months-12-years-old will have her fees waived for the Little Miss Capital City Production Pageant July 10, 2010 in Sacramento, CA.

Divisional winners will receive half their entry fees paid to participate in the Little Miss Capital City Production Pageant July 10, 2010 in Sacramento, CA.

Talent winners will have their talent entry fee waived for the Little Miss Capital City Production Pageant.

Modeling winners with have their modeling fees waived for the Little Miss Capital City Production Pageant.

Photogenic winners will have their photogenic fees waived for the Little Miss Capital City Production Pageant.

Eligibility for divisional and overall titles:

Contestants ages 4-months to 12-years-old must compete in modeling, talent and photogenic to receive enough points to win divisional and overall titles.

Modeling:

Contestants in the Baby-Tiny age groups will walkout with, or be carried out by a parent/adult. Each parent and contestant will step forward individually for on-stage presence, attire and audience applause.

(Parents must keep at least one hand on Baby and Tiny Miss contestants while on-stage or it may lead to disqualification of the contestant.)

Contestants in the Mini-Junior age groups will model the basic Little Miss Capital City T formation, making a step-step turn at the front X.

Contestant parent/guardian may schedule a meeting with a LMCC pageant coach to learn LMCC modeling prior to the pageant. At this time, a rehearsal is not scheduled.

Talent:

Talent must be of a holiday or spiritual theme. Example: Singing "Jingle Bells" or "Amazing Grace", a tap dance to "Santa Claus" is coming to town etc.

Talent ages 4-years-old to 12-years-old, must be no longer than 1:30. Judges will deduct points from any contestant exceeding the time limit of one minute and thirty seconds.

Contestants in Baby and Tiny divisions compete in personality instead of talent during the modeling competition. There is no talent competition for Baby or Tiny Miss Contestants.

Talent must be age appropriate (Think Rated G. Disney Channel etc.) Please call our office if you have a question about the age appropriateness of a talent routine/song.

Talent is 50% of the total score.

No elaborate staging

No fire acts

No Lip-syncing: Contestants singing to a CD Ex. Singing along with Mariah Carey will have 10-points subtracted from the total score.

Two minutes total for all setup and stage preparation

Music will be faded and curtain closed on any talent that is not G-Rated. If you have doubt about the appropriateness of a talent, find another talent.

A piano may not be available.

Photogenic:

Contestants wishing to enter photogenic must bring a photo with contestant’s name and age on the back of photograph.

Photo can be no smaller than a 4x6 and no larger than an 8x10. Photograph may be a snapshot.

Photo must have only the image of the contestant.

Pick up photogenic photographs at the end of the pageant.

Contestants who do not bring a photograph will be ineligible to compete for the overall divisional and overall pageant titles.

Sportsmanship:

Poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated and will lead to a lifetime ban on participation in any LMCC, Little Miss West Coast functions.

Attire:

Wear a Holiday dress for the Holiday Pageant. Think velvet, Holiday Santa dresses, Christmas or winter print. Holiday hats and muffs are acceptable.

Contestants can wear their Holiday dress for talent if appropriate for talent. Example singing, "Jesus Loves Me," the same dress worn for modeling may be appropriate. Wearing the dress and doing a tumbling routine is not appropriate.

Time/Commitment:

Since this is a single day pageant, do not plan another activity on November 14 outside the pageant. The pageant will not wait on contestants, or reschedule contestant’s age group to accommodate any contestant’s schedule. Tentatively the pageant is set to begin at 10am at one of the Elk Grove Schools that we currently have programs. Winners of the First Little Miss Capital City Holiday Pageant may compete in the Little Miss Capital City Pageant if they are between 1-year-old and 12-years-old on the day of the pageant, July 10, 2010.

Siblings:

Parents who have more than one child competing in the Holiday Pageant must pay all entry fees separately. Example: Write one check for one child and write a separate check for the second child competing.

Refunds/Returned Checks:

Fees *will be refunded* if for any reason the pageant is cancelled.

There will be a $35.00 fee for any returned checks.

Fees/Rules/Regulations:

Fees/Rules/Regulations are non-negotiable. Little Miss Capital City/Little Miss West Coast Pageants are not free community events. Entry fees go toward Theatre rental, crowns, trophies, sashes, advertisement, printing, copying, office rental, phones, Internet and all the many other expenses associated with staging a first class event.
