Elk Grove’s largest family festival celebrates party politics in 2008 with a raucous caucus of GIANT pumpkins and patriotic scarecrows. The GIANT Pumpkin Party features a the region's largest pumpkin weigh-off, scarecrow contest, pumpkin boat races, entertainment from two stages, children’s activities, pumpkin and festival foods, crafts, pumpkin patch and carving demonstrations, and a classic car show.  Always the first weekend in October.
