Just a little update for those that have or are working on entering in the “Mom’s Always Write” children’s book writing contest.

I’m MamaSeaShell, I’m a local artist here in Sacramento and SacMomsClub Mom here on the website.  I’m going to be the illustrator for the Mom’s Always Write Children’s Book Grand Prize Winner.

This is an amazing opportunity that the SacMomsClub has arranged for us moms here on the site!  When I saw the news that there was a writing contest I was so excited.

I am a big children’s book fan!   I share all of my favorite stories from when I was a kid with my children.  I have them on display at the top shelf in my office.  I take them down on special occasions to read together with my kids.

Some of them are Richard Scarry’s animal stories, Maurice Sendak‘s, “Where the Wild Things are” and "Little Bear",  Shel Silverstein and his poetry, and “The Rainbow Goblins” by Ul de Rico.  Whom, by the way, is the artist responsible for the background art for the movie “The Never Ending Story“.   Which, were all a big inspiration for me to be an artist illustrator.

Just like our children...All Children’s stories are wonderful in different ways.  The story can be educational or they can be funny and non-sensical like Shel Silversteins poems.

We’ve all grown up with our favorites. Which children’s book was your favorite? What kind of children’s books did you enjoy reading as a kid?  We wouldn’t have these wonderful stories to pass on if they didn’t put them out there for all of us to share. I am so glad to see so many creative stories coming from the mom's here on the site.

This is a fantastic opportunity for us to have a great children’s book made and read for the Fairytale Town Celebration Event.  I can’t wait to work together with the Final Grand Prize Winner on their illustrations.

If you haven’t seen some of my work you can go to my “Online Gallery” of illustrations, artwork and drawings at…www.EcruCartwheel.com

Good Luck to the Winner of the Contest!!!
