You probably know her as mom2twinboys. But this former insurance examiner-turned-stay-at-home mom is so much more.

An avid cyclist and long-distance runner, she rattles off her record nonchalantly. Eight marathons. 50k races. Twelve-hour mountain bike races. 100-mile tandem rides with her husband.

Whew.

When she became pregnant, she was advised to take it easy, making sure that her heart rate didn’t go over 140 bpm.

“I thought, “What can I do if I can’t run?” she said.

She kept busy with prenatal yoga, stationery biking and working out on the Nautilus equipment at the now-defunct Sutter Pregnagym.

After her sons, Brodie and Lucas, were born, she gave it six weeks and then started running again.

“I still do everything that I like to do. I’ve just had to modify a little,” she said.

These days, the Sacramento resident still runs every day. Her favorite product is her Bob Ironman Double Stroller, which comes equipped with a rain canopy if it showers.

She also rides tandem on the bike trail with her sons, who are now 11 months old. They sit in a double chariot side by side. Sometimes they fall asleep on the journey. Other times, they just watch the world go by.

“They love it. I started when they were about 3 months old,” she said.

She loves it, too.

"My love of biking began when I was a kid. I have fond memories of my big wheel and green machine. I loved anything that had wheels and I could pedal fast," she said. "It's a great way to get outside, see the world, and stay fit at the same time."
