I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in government-journalism major from California State University, Sacramento in the spring of 2008. I work full-time as an event hunter for SacLights.com. It’s my responsibility to find all the cool events in town and post them onto the Web site.

I like to think I know the Sacramento area better than most people my age. I was born and raised in the Oak Park neighborhood of Sacramento. I attended David Lubin Elementary School, Sutter Middle School, Sacramento High School and Sacramento City College. The mascot stable consists of a dinosaur, miner, dragon, panther, hornet, and now, a bee.

I see myself as a versatile journalist and extensive researcher with seven years of experience at university newspapers and entry-level positions at media organizations. I am enthusiastic to utilize multimedia to research and present content. My immediate goal is to pursue a writing position at a newspaper or a research position at a television news magazine.

My skills include managing, editing, page design and writing – primarily features, entertainment, sports and crime. I have used databases to compliment my research. I am familiar with Adobe InDesign and QuarkXPress with basic skill sets in photography and Adobe Photoshop skills. My Spanish proficiency is limited to two years of college course work.
