Mommy, do you think of me?    posted by twoboyshere

As a little boy laid down to sleep, he asked his Mommy, "Do you think of me?"

His Mommy asked him what he meant.  The little boy explained that when his mommy went to work, he missed her and wondered if she thought of him while she was away.

The Mommy told her son that she wanted to tell him of all the times that she misses him throughout the day. And she started with her story....

When I back out of the garage and I see your bicycle, I miss you and I miss watching you ride up and down the street.

When I turn on the radio to my car, I miss you because children's songs begin to play and I think of all the fun we have singing songs and dancing together in my car.

When I stop at a stop sign and I see a crossing guard, I miss you and I think of all that you are learning when you are away from me.

When I enter my office and pass by the snacks in the kitchen, I miss you and think of the snacks we enjoy making together.

When I have a meeting with a client that is being demanding, I miss you and think that negotiating with you is a lot more fun.

When I attend a conference call, my mind drifts and I look around the room and miss you because you and I have so much fun playing I Spy together.

When I sign my name to documents, I miss you because I think of all the fun we have together playing tic-tac-toe.

When my phone rings at work, I miss you because I wish I could talk to more throughout the day.

When the sun starts to fall, I miss you because I know you are waiting for me to come home before going on an adventure in the backyard.

When I come home from work, I see you and I am overjoyed, but I miss the time I have spent away from you.  You are always in my heart and in my mind son.

As the Mommy looked over to her son, she realized he had fallen asleep.

Just then, the mommy kissed her son on his forehead and told him that someday she will miss these wonderful nights together.

The Book That Grew Legs    posted by teacheroftwos

A book that grew legs, yes it is true! Yes, it could even happen to you! You see this is how it took place! I know I see the wonder on your face. Let me explain, then you will understand. Maybe then we can come up with a plan. Well it all started one day when I placed my book down. Low and behold it was gone when I turned around. I know I left it there, where could it have gone! It must have grown legs and ran out on the lawn! No, no that could not be. Maybe it grew legs and is jumping through the house like a flea. Oh the adventures my book must be on. I have to find it or my library privileges will be gone! I have looked all over, can you help me now? I hope my book did not grow legs like a cow!  My mom is looking and my brother too. My book has legs, what are we to do? We need to look  faster and find it soon. My book might be walking on the moon. Where did I last see it, where was it last? I cannot remember it was in the past! My mom says to retrace my steps, go back to the start! I have done this mom, I did my part. Then she remembers one place we did not look. Could this be it; have we found my book? She looks in the garage to see if it is there! I hope it did not grow legs like a bear! I cannot believe it was there! I am in such despair! This whole day has been such a daze! I cannot believe all the places my book went when it grew legs.

It's bedtime and I sleep alone!    posted by penguinsimone

Max had finished washing his face and brushing his teeth. He had put on his favorite dinosaur pajamas and was ready for bed. Max opened up his bedroom door and looked around. He flipped on his night light and climbed under the covers. Max’s mom came in and gave him a kiss, pulling the door halfway closed on her way out. “Good night Max. I love you” she whispered.

Max looked up at the ceiling. “Excuse me. It’s my bedtime and I sleep alone!” he said to the ghosts floating up there near his light.

The ghosts sighed and disappeared with a pop!

Max then looked over at the closet door. “Excuse me. It’s my bedtime and I sleep alone!” he said to the monsters peeking out the door.

The monsters cried and disappeared with a boom!

Max then leaned over and peered under the bed. “Excuse me. It’s my bedtime and I sleep alone!” he said to the monsters resting in the dark under his bed.

The monsters whined and disappeared with a shriek!

Max looked around the room and smiled. “It’s my bedtime and I sleep alone!” he said. He looked down at his teddy bear and whispered, “Well almost alone.”

If You Were a Butterfly...    posted by bmwpsmommy

One night, as a mommy was tucking her little boy into bed, he asked, “Mommy, what would I be if I weren’t your little boy?”   His mommy answered, “If you were a butterfly, you would be the most beautiful rainbow colored butterfly I had ever seen. You would brighten my day every time I looked outside my window.   “If you were a block, you would be strong and solid. You would make a noble foundation for the castles we would build.   “If you were a tool, you would be a strong rubber mallet. You would help me put our big tent when we go camping.   “If you were a car, you would be fast and shiny. Everyone would just see a flash of orange as we drove past.   “If you were a blanket, you would be warm to snuggle on a cold, dark night. We would create giant forts in our living room.   “If you were a building, you would be a great, tall skyscraper. You would remind me to look up at the clouds in the sky.   “If you were a flower, you would be a big, bush of purple lilacs. I would sit outside each evening, breathe in wonderful memories, and tell you stories about when I was little.   “If you were a book, you would be a sweet bedtime story. We would read together every night until I kissed your sweet head and tucked you into bed.  Good night, Little One, dream fantastic dreams.” The smiling mommy kissed her little boy good night.

Trixie the Pixie    posted by Danielasonnino

Trixie the Pixie was the smallest one of all the fairies,

She lived with her mama and the other fairies in a field of flowers

and berries.

She had sparkely eyes and little blue wings,

and she was as lovely as the songs that angels sing.

She was also very curious and would often fly,

out of  the range of her mama's eye.

Her mama always tried to keep her eye on her

but Trixie would flitter away without a word.

A troll named Ivan the Scary lived near the field.

He was fuzzy, smelly and fairies were his favorite meal.

This worried Trixie's mama, she knew of his tricks,

so she warned Trixie to stay away from his house made of sticks.

But Trixie was curious as I told you before,

and when her mama wasn't looking she bolted for the door.

Trixie flew were she wasn't supposed to go, past the flowers and berries

to the edge of the wood near Ivan the Scary's.

Ivan was outside tending his patch of briars and thistles,

and he smelled that a fairy was near, and it made his fuzz bristle.

He ran inside and got his best fairy catching net

and licking his lips he went out to see what he could get.

Trixie wasn't paying attention, she was just flitting around

when all of a sudden Ivan's net brought her to the ground.

It looked like Trixie would end up as Ivan's next lunch,

but the whole fairy city flew up just then with her mama out ahead of the bunch.

The fairies grabbed that net away from Ivan the troll

and chased him down a nearby snake hole.

The snake saw him coming and gobbled him up,

and Ivan's fairy catching net landed down in the dust.

The fairies hugged Trixie and crowded around,

everyone was so happy that she was found.

And Trixie learned a big lesson that that day,

to listen to her mama and never to stray.
