Jen (Dual-career mom of Jacob 6, Caleb 3, and Abigail 6 weeks): It’s that time of year again. My one day for breakfast in bed, being doted on, showered with appreciation, and an all house effort of relieving the pressures of being “Mom.”
Kelli (Stay-at-home mom of Logan 9, and Whitney 8): Kids can’t wait for Christmas – Moms can’t wait for Mother’s Day.
Jen: I appreciate the gesture and all, but are you with me that motherhood is so much bigger than a one day celebration can highlight?
Kelli: Definitely. Because when the curtain comes down and the show is over, everyone goes back to their regularly scheduled programming and we mothers go back to being the undiscovered talent waiting for our big break.
Jen: It is the everyday toil and rewards of motherhood that just can’t be captured with a card and some burnt toast.
