ArtBeast is a great place for kids. Most of the time, we try to do free things.  Having two kids, plus some places charge for adults too, adds up.  A few free things we've done lately:  Feeding ducks at McKinley Park.  We visit lots of different playgrounds, especially those with spray grounds during the summer.  Effie Yeaw nature center at Ancil Hoffman Park. William B. Pond recreation area along the American River Bike Trail.  Arden way runs into William B. Pond.  Its fun to walk down to the river.  Bring bread to feed the ducks.  Plus Lucas and Brodie have fun playing with sticks, and throwing rocks into the water.   We meet up with lots of other parents and their kids for play dates during the week.  Sometimes the kids just play, other times we plan art or water activities for them. In regards to exercise, I allow at least 1-2 days a week as rest days.  Life is busy, so if I know I have 1-2 days where I don't...
