I know. I feel without me telling my son (and husband sometimes) what to do every minute, they'd both just die of starvation playing video games. Hahaha.
I always loved the excuse of "I don't know how to do it (load the dishwasher)", or "You do it so much better!" Any handywork around the house. I'm trying to use that one back on him more often. Like HE'S the only one who knows how to clean out the gunk trap in the dishwasher. Hahahah.
I know what you mean, I HATE to be gone and come home to the house. YIKES! And yes, I do the phone reminders (or just leave a list) as well. Interesting isn't it?
