From Retail Events to  Gifts for Donations at Guest Services, Fountains at Roseville is Dedicated to  Helping Raise Funds to Support Families with Childhood Cancer
(Roseville, CA &amp;ndash; August 31,  2009) &amp;ndash; September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month as declared in 1990 by  President George H.W. Bush. In the U.S., over 12,000  children under the age of 21 are diagnosed with cancer every year, and  approximately 3,000 of them will not survive the disease. Fountains at Roseville, in  partnership with its retailers and center events, is helping raise funds  for the Keaton Raphael Memorial (KRM)  throughout September.


The objective of Childhood  Cancer Awareness Month is to spotlight childhood cancer issues, raise awareness  and stimulate community action.&amp;nbsp; Although the childhood cancer community has  been celebrating September as the official awareness month since 1990, most  recently, Senator Hillary Rodham  Clinton declared a National Childhood  Cancer Awareness Day, which falls on September 13, 2008. 



&amp;ldquo;We are thrilled to be able to  partner with the Keaton Raphael Memorial to support them in their effort to  raise awareness and funds during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month,&amp;rdquo; explained  Gloria Wright, Fountains at Roseville general manager. &amp;ldquo;We are dedicated to  supporting causes that help children in our community; we are honored to be able  to share our resources to support them.&amp;rdquo;

Fountains at Roseville will be  raising funds for the Keaton Raphael Memorial in several ways. Fountains at  Roseville&amp;rsquo;s Guest Services desk will be the hub of the fund-raising effort as  well as events with several retailer and on-site activities. Guest Services will  assist with:
&amp;middot;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;  Accepting  donations and provide donors with KRM &amp;ldquo;Caring Cards&amp;rdquo;
&amp;middot;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;  For every $25  donation made, the donor receives a Fountains VIP coupon book
&amp;middot;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;  For every  donation made, donors can enter to win a &amp;ldquo;Fountains shopping  spree&amp;rdquo;
&amp;middot;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;  Donation  collections will take place at each Concert Series Night through Sept. 30 &amp;ndash; Wed,  Fri and Sat nights from 7-9pm

&amp;middot;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;  Gold Ribbons  will be displayed in the play area, symbolizing &amp;ldquo;September as National  Childhood Cancer Awareness Month&amp;rdquo;

CURRENT PLANNED  EVENTS (more events may be added):

    All  Month, Whole Foods Market at Fountains is  collecting nickels in our honor for every bag brought in during a grocery  purchase.&amp;nbsp; Pick KRM as your charity of choice.  
    4th  &amp;ndash; First Friday Event, kick-off childhood cancer awareness month by visiting  KRM info booth and bid on great silent auction items donated by The Fountains  merchants. 7pm-9pm 
    12th &amp;ndash; Kids Club, Bring your  kids and honor local children with cancer by making a special craft-FREE!  10am-12pm 
    18th-Article Salon Event, Article&amp;rsquo;s One Year Anniversary party! That  evening Article will be hosting a KRM info booth, fashion show, &amp;amp; food and  wine. Article gift certificates  will be sold that entire week (Sept. 13th-19th) for salon  services in $50 denominations of which $25 will go directly to KRM. Gift  Certificates will be valid with all commission stylists and participating rental  stylists. Doors open at 7. Show at 8:30pm. 
    22nd-Big  Spoon Fund-raiser, bring in  KRM&amp;rsquo;s Big Spoon Fundraising Flyer when you purchase yogurt and KRM will receive  a percentage of sales. 11am-11pm &amp;nbsp;Donate at Big Spoon &amp;amp; receive KRM  Caring Cards Sept. 20th-26th!  
    29th-Boudin Bakery Fund-raiser,  Dine in at Boudin&amp;rsquo;s and KRM will  receive 40% of all  sales for dine-in (5pm-closing) on Tuesday September 29th.&amp;nbsp;  No flyer required.&amp;nbsp; 
    30th &amp;ndash; Summer Concert  Series, The Fountains will present a check to KRM of all the  donations given throughout September and from the coins collected from the  center fountain. A winner will be announced from the drawing of &amp;ldquo;The  Fountains -Shopping Spree&amp;rdquo; (winner need not be present).  7pm-9pm

Gold  Ribbons: The &amp;ldquo;GOLD&amp;rdquo;  Ribbon symbolizes the fight against childhood cancer and the need for increased  awareness and research funds toward a cure. Gold is a precious metal and so are  our children battling childhood cancer. By wearing the gold ribbon you are  showing support for the approximately 12,600 children who will be diagnosed with  cancer in the U.S. this year.&amp;nbsp;Ribbons will be displayed throughout the Fountains  play areas in September.

About Keaton Raphael Memorial
On February 20,  1998, Roseville residents, Robyn and Kyle Raphael lost their five-year-old son,  Keaton, to a deadly childhood cancer known as Neuroblastoma (cancer of the  nervous system). Keaton endured a nine month battle of aggressive treatment  before he suddenly lost his fight due to treatment  complications.

In March 1998,  the Raphael&amp;rsquo;s founded this memorial in Keaton&amp;rsquo;s honor and serves as a positive  living legacy for other local children and families battling cancer. What began  as a grass-roots organization has grown into a regionally and nationally  recognized childhood cancer nonprofit.Still, grass-roots in nature, KRM  understands the need to focus on families in our community and create positive  solutions by building strong community partnerships. KRM is dedicated to helping  families in Northern California whose children have been diagnosed with all  types of cancer through; financial, emotional and educational support and  resources.
