Do you feel the need to help others?

Do you ever find yourself feeling like you should be doing something more?  I have listened to stories and read the news about different issues for years now and always felt that I should be doing something.

I think most of us have it in us to help others, but don't really have the time to put anything in place.  I have recently stumbled upon a website called "Mothers Fighting for Others", which is already put together and doing fabulous things and now I find myself completely committed.

I would love to invite you to check it out at www.mothersfightingforothers.com and let me know what you think.  I have communicated several times with the founder, Rocky Turner, and she is just amazing.  I am currently participating in the "Underwear for Africa" project, and will be sending over 50 pairs of underwear to Rocky by the first week of April so that she can take them with her on her return trip at the end of the month.  I am also planning to participate in a community yard sale here in Elk Grove, with all proceeds going to the "Clean Water Project".

I would love it if anyone wants to participate with me. I am looking forward to getting to know the other moms here and joining in your monthly coffee/margarita get togethers!

I am disabled and can not work but I am able to volunteer 1 hour and I do that at my childrens school and It feels so rewarding.  So, keep doing what your doing, it is great and makes you feel good about yourself.

God Bless You.

I wanted to thank you for giving us the information on " Mothers", however, when i attempted to download the flyer for donations of underwear I couldn't get it to come up.  Any how, I plan to donate underwear to the cause and wil leave the information on our community message board.  I try to give as much as I can, and try to instill this into my children.  I love organizations such as this because it is one thing you would never think about there being a need for, again, Thank You.

Loved you're blog on helping others.  In this day and age, with the economy going down and people getting laid off and losing their homes, it's a scarry time for sure.  I'm the owner of Jack n Jillybeans Salon, I have sent out letters to all the schools in our area to donate ten gift certificates per event that the school has to raise money for the kids.  It's so good when you can give something back to the community.  This is my way--
