Back to school sales start now
Did you see all the inserts in Sunday's paper? Believe it or not, it's back to school time. This is a biggie for me because it's the first time in 18 years that both my boys aren't heading back to school. No matter if they are 5 or 15, back to school has been part of our lives since 1990. In April, our oldest graduated from college, leaving younger brother as the only one heading back to class. But whether it's college or preschool, Moms will be searching for bargains on everything from pencils to portfolios between now and September. Better get it now while the selection is good and there's still plenty of time. Here are a few things that caught my eye on Sunday: Target is always a great place to shop for school stuff, because you can get clothes and markers all in the same place. Target has teen-themed notebooks 2/$3 and Crayola colored pencils or the standard No. 2 pencils for $2.They also have 50-count markers for $5; Camp Rock and Incredible Hulk lunch kits for $9 and Camo backpacks for $11. If your student wears a uniform to school, they have both boys and girls styles on sale for $8.99 and $9.99. Walgreens has an entire pull-out section on Back-to-School supplies and the sale is way beyond BOGO. It's buy one get two free. Everything from filler paper to scissors to markers and pencils to vinyl binders. Inside of the pull-out, you will find the BOGOs. Don't forget about thrift shopping too. The "disressed" look is never out of style. If you have a sewing machine (for quick flourishes or extra repairs), that's better still!
Also, if you bring your used ink to Office Max, they'll give you a $2 store credit per cartridge. That's a good start on school supplies.
