The Wednesday ads
It's Wednesday again and that means grocery store sales arrive at the doorstep. I'm going to help you sort out the good from the "don't need it." There's lots of fruit and veggies that even kids will like. Blueberries at Safeway for $3.59; and baby carrots in the bag for $1 at Raley's/BelAir and Safeway. If you want an easy Friday night meal, head over to Safeway where they have a Friday $5 special. This week it's 1-foot French loaf made into an "All-American" sub with turkey, ham, roast beef, cheeses, lettuce and tomato. Add some of their potato salad and you have a cool, easy meal. Also at the Safeway stores on Howe Avenue or Sierra College Boulevard, there are coupon deals for tuna. Solid, white StarKist for 4 cans/$2. Premium bread is just 99-cents a loaf. If you shop SaveMart, Bing cherries are $2.99lb; Mozzarella string cheese is $5.99 for 24 count packages; Sunnyside Farms lemonade drinks are $1 each for 640z. cartons and large eggs are 2/$6 for 18-count AA. Raley's has juicy cantaloupe for 37-cents a pound and salad macaroni for $1 a bag. If you have other good shopping tips, please share. It's so hard to think cheap when I just came from "Icing on the Cupcake" located at 5065 Pacific Street, Rocklin, Ca (916)315-9500. I got two different cupcakes, to try, and they are sinfully delicious!! I had the dark and white chocolate, and vanilla with cherry topping, YUMMMMMMMMMMMM!! They call themselves a boutique cupcakery, and I had been dying to try them. They don't open until 11am, and I have to be at work before then. But today I got to go to work late, so I checked them out. The mom and daughter who have the shop make all kinds of wonderful cupcakes and you can order the little ones too; for parties and such. They are my new favorite spot for something sweet. They aren't the cheapest, but certainly the freshest, and best tasting. One cupcake costs about $2.50, but worth every bite I took. Enjoy!
