mygirls2 - > IT'S JUST ME -> Preschool or College?!!
Preschool or College?!!

After all the paperwork signing and scheduling doctor's appointment it was my four year old first day of preschool.

I woke up this morning with my girls greeting me with a smile. My 4 year old blurted with enthusiasm and anxiousness, "Mommy today I'm going to preschool." I responded "I know and you are going to have a great time meeting new friends". On the short ride to Nana's house (2 mins) all she talked about was what she was going to do. Nana greeted us and she hopped out of the car, "Nana I'm going to preschool". Nana smiled. I kissed her good bye, explained that I was going to meet her at school. I went to work, from 7am-2:45pm you would of thought I was about to become an "empty nester.

About 15 mins before I clocked out, I had the worst butterflies in my stomach. I attempted to relax, but my hand just got more clammy. 2:45pm came and I raced out the door. I arrived at the school, waiting for Nana and my daughter to arrive. When she was walking to me, I saw my daughter's face, it was obvious the morning excitement fell flat, I've never seen her so shy. What happened to the babbling and smiling little girl I knew this morning? The class room door opened, she clung to my leg as if I was throwing into a lion's pit. The class began with the teacher wanting everyone to sit at the table reading a book, I dragged her over. I stayed a bit while Nana sat sideline, attempting to turn her frown upside down. The teacher did a playful song of attendance, this somewhat helped bring her happiness back. The turning point was when the teacher announced "Were going outside to play". I've never seen a smile so bright.

I watched as she walked out the door. I had feelings of excitement, sadness and emptiness, she's going off to college, NO it's just preschool, I'll see her in 3 hours:)

Oh, preschool! What a big moment for you and your girl. I cannot believe I'll be ready when it's my daughter's turn for school.

That was so sweet. I'm glad she had a good time. What a big day!
