A Dad who really cooks...

When I first met my husband, I was thrilled to find out that he could cook.

Now, some 13 years later, it's still one of his most endearing qualities. Especially since our son was born.

Nowadays I rarely have to slave over a hot stove, especially on a busy weeknight (unless I’ve just watched something on the Food Network and am feeling like unleashing my best Giada impression!). He’s quite content to get in the kitchen and make dinner while I get our son ready for bed. By the time he’s down, dinner is done (and I’m usually starving and ready to eat!)

He made aioli from scratch last weekend. Flipping aioli! To put on the sautéed potatoes (our guilt-free word for what is essentially sliced potatoes fried up to a crispy golden brown) and accompany the hanger steaks that he grilled. How great is that!

So this blog is essentially a love letter to him to say thanks for the meals. Love on a plate.

I feel ya on this one! My husband is the best cook and I'm so spoiled. I can throw a meal together, but my heart is not in it. He, however, loves it. Going to restaurants is not as exciting as it used to be cause I can get a better steak at home.

I guess a way to a woman's heart is through her stomach...

I second that emotion. Marrying someone who loved cooking was important to me. I am incredibly spoiled by my husband's culinary expertise. I burn water so he doesn't like me in his kitchen any way (and I'm perfectly fine with that!)
