Twins and Higher Order of Multiples
It seems like every where I go these days, I run into parents of multiples, soon to be parents of multiples, or someone who is a twin, or has multiples in their family.
I have found that the common thread other than the multiple connection, is we all like to talk, share stories, and offer advice about being parents of multiples. After Lucas and Brodie were first born, I was overwhelmed when meeting parents of multiples. Their words of wisdom were frightening at times. Especially when it seemed like all I was doing was barely making it through each day on a few hours of INTERRUPTED sleep. Now that my boys are a year old, I have officially emerged out of the fog. Now I too am one of those mothers of multiples who likes to talk, share stories, and offer advice. But I can still remember how I felt not so long ago, and I try not to overwhelm the new and soon to be parents of multiples. Becoming a new parent is a major accomplishment and takes getting use to, but becoming a new parent of multiples requires some sort of super human feat. The only way to survive is to accept help when its offered, ask for help, ask questions, and listen to the advice of those who have already been through it. 3 comments from 2 users

I remember my kids' 1st birthday. The party was more of a celebration of survival and of thanks for all the adults in our lives who helped us make it through with three healthy babies. posted by

Father of boy girl twins now 3 years old... My wife and I took the twins to Roseville/ Rocklin area to check out some potential communities to live in. We went into the Galleria to eat lunch and wound up running into some 3 or 4 sets of twins. It's a bit more rare on the Monterey Bay where we currently live. Is there something in the water? haha! We love our twins and will soon be in Multiple land ourselves as my wife was just offered a great job in Sacramento.
I'll be home with the twins and hoping to work part time while they're in preschool, I guess as long as I can find them a preschool. Well, here's to multiples! I feel like I am the fastest diaper changing dad! posted by

My wife is now living in Rocklin and just loves it. I will be heading out in the next few months with the twins or sooner if we have another layoff at work. I'll be looking for daycare for our son (3), then will be enrolling our daughter into a school too. Any recommendations for either of them? Our son is on scheduling learning, but our daughter is developementally slower she'll be going to another school that we are already working on.
