Tattoo You
My husband has two. My sister has four. My brother in-law has half a sleeve and my other brother in-law is trying to remove his. Yes, I'm referring to tattoos. I actually think that tattoos are interesting to look at, but perhaps what's more interesting is the reason why people get them. Some are sentimental, some are symbolic and some just because. It seems like in mid-town and downtown For the longest time, when the topic of tattoos would come up in conversation , I would definitively say, "No, I don't want one. I wouldn't know what to get." Well, I'm changing my tune. I'm actually considering it... well, kindof, maybe considering it. I really haven't mentioned this to anyone other than my husband. I'm sure that most people that know me would be surprised that I'm contemplating this. It's certainly nothing unique, but perhaps I'm not the "type". (whatever the "type" is.) I still don't know exactly what to get, but it would be something involving my kids, my family. Perhaps something designed to include their initials or birthdates. Hubby thinks I would regret getting one. We'll see. So until I make up my mind, I'll continue to enjoy the wide range of art walking around 5 comments from 5 users

Numbers (birthdates/anniversaries) and initials are always a good idea, mostly because they are meaningful to you and those closest to you. But just ask yourself, will this look good when I'm an 82 year old grandma with 82 year old wrinkly skin? If you don't mind, no problem! Can't wait to hear your decision! By the way, do you know where you would get one? Your arm? Ankle? Shoulder? Tummy? Or somewhere only your hubby and shower accessories would know? posted by

Food for thought: Throughout the chapters of our lives, are those things that made your world go 'round at that time, still as significant as they are today? I'm sure glad I avoided the urge to permanately display my love for Garfield, Bobby, Zimas and even my sorority (sisters forever, yay!) on my body -- but that's just me. And if my son ever feels the need to emblazon his body with his love for his mother -- I've told him I'd rather have it in a greeting card and I promise to keep it forever. posted by

I want another one. We could have a moms night out for tattoos! Hahaha. I'm thinking of going to Wild Bill's in Sacramento. They did my uncle and cousin and it looks great. http://www.wild-bills.com/p... ALWAYS check out the artists work before you let them ink you. All tattoo artists should have a book photographing their best work. LOOK before you leap. It's best if you can go by word of mouth. Bigger is better. Too small an image and over time it will "bleed" and you won't see the detail. Get it in a spot that will look good with age (like shoulder or back of neck). Too many women don't plan ahead. Get it when you can stay away from a pool or ocean till it heals (three weeks or so). I have two and love them both!
