I am sick...so very very sick. I dont know if I have food poisioning or the flu,, but I think that it is the 1st but am to embarresed to call the health department in case it isnt. Anyhow it started all last night about a 1/2 hr after my daughter and I went to the frozen yougurt place. Lets just say when I got home I spent a lot of time sitting on the pot....Of course it cant be that simple, my oldest daughter came in at midnight to join us because she had a bad dream and my youngest daughter decided to start the day at 4 am. Today I feel like I am dying, if I stand up I get horrible stomach cramps so I have been trying to lay down most of the day but that isnt easy with two little ones who always want something. When my younger one took a nap I took my older one into bed with me and made he watch cartoons while I slept off and on...What do you do in this situatuion..I feel like i cant walk or move....who ever knew that  staying home wih kids when you are sick could be this hard....thankfully my husband should be home in an hour...hope I can make it

So my oldest daughter who is 4 had ear tubes when she was younger because she had constant chronic ear infections...they did a great job and I was so glad we made the decision to get them put in....they have been out for almost a year now and she has been doing great....until 3 weeks ago. She had a cold which turned into an ear infection...not a big deal for us, we know the drill. So we started her on Keflex and it seemed to improve...until about 5 days into it. Then she told me the ear pain was back again....so we marched back to the Dr's again. He couldn't see anything wrong with her ears this time, but he then used this machine that blows air into her ear and then measures the density or something. Well it came back that her ears were still filled with fluid so we were started on Zithromax(the power hitter). Well so after 4 days of the stuff she is complaining that her ear pain is worse and she spent the night at her grandmas house and grandma said she was crying at night and when she woke up that her ear hurt. So yesterday for the third time we went back to see her Dr. He again said that he didn't see anything when he looked in her ear and he isn't convinced that it is an ear infection now, rather so much fluid in her ears that it is causing severe pressure and pain...so now we are on a nasal spray and a decongestant until we can get back in to her ENT(ear Dr) which isn't until April 31st...so what I am supposed to do until them. Let her be in severe pain...that is not an easy thing for a parent. She is on Motrin and Tylenol throughout the day but come on...somehow I think we are going to back to tubes again!!

Yes that is right, it is 4 a.m. and I am sitting in front of the TV with my 21 month old who has been awake since 3 a.m. happy and ready to start the day...to say that I wasn't was an understatement. My 4 yr old slipped into my bed at 1 am saying that she had a bad dream and then at 2 she wanted me to go and get her teddy bear in her room. Then at 3, my younger one decided to play and laugh and jump in her crib...I left her there for a hour hoping she would fall back asleep but no luck.....I finally got up and got her because I wasn't going to get any sleep at this rate with all of the noise she was making and all she needed to do was wake up my 4 yr old too......it is going to be a very very long day!!!

So it was my birthday on Saturday and I decided to go away for a girls weekend. So my friend and I went down to Colusa Casino on Saturday and stayed the night and then Sunday my mom and step-sister came down to meet us and play high stakes bingo...(which btw I won $600) so it was a great time. My friend and I had a blast and although we both love our kids it was a nice break. Well as we were on our way home, my daughter calls her grandma and tells her that she cant come to her house anymore because her ear hurts so bad that she cant walk because of the pain. Now I had just talked to her on the phone not 5 minutes before and had heard nothing about her ear until my mom called and told me what she had said. So my husband gave her some Tylenol and it seemed to help the pain. This morning she came out crying that her ear really hurt and on top of that you could tell that she is getting a very bad cold....that was sure a quick break and now I am thrown right back into being a mom taking care of a sick 4 yr old....

So as I spend the good part of the afternoon mopping and cleaning my dining room and cleaning the girls bathroom from top to bottom, I am still reminded of the million other areas that need to be cleaned....then it seems like it only stays clean for 5 minutes before someone comes through and makes it look like it has never been cleaned before. My 4 year olds room is a mess, you cannot even walk through it without stepping on something( I am so sorry mom, now I know how you felt when I would never clean my room as a teenager )/. So I have been telling her all afternoon to clean up her room which feels like me to fall on deaf ears. I go into her room to get the dustpan and notice that all she has managed to do is make her bed....now I know that it is better then nothing but to top it all off as I was walking out of her room, I step on a stupid plastic hamster wheel and cut my foot open....I think I am going to go crazy. So I continue on trying to finish up the bathroom since I was almost done, and in runs my 4 yr old covered on her face and both hands in chocolate saying she needs to wash her hands...(as she grabs onto the newly cleaned counter) so as instinct kicked in I said to her what the h*ll. Oops...thank fully it surprised her so much that she said huh....I told her to get in my room and wash her face and hands....I finally finish up the bathroom and wonder when will it get better.

So I took my 4 year old daughter to her first horseback riding lesson on Sunday thinking that I wish that I would have started earlier when I was a kid and now is the best time for her. So I went into it thinking that it would take her some time, and some falls(even though I was dreading this) but everyone falls at one time or another to get used to it....she is already horse crazy like her mommy but now I want her to be good at it too. Well as the lesson began, I was shocked....it looked like she had been riding all of her short life already. Before the lesson ended she was already trotting with one hand on her head and even starting to post (for those of you that don't know what this is, it is when you push your body up and down in the saddle in time with the horse)

So at this rate, she is going to be a better rider then her mom is....I used to ride everyday and even jump horses....all I know is that I better get back in shape so that I can start riding again, or she is going to kick my butt!!!

I try to feed my family organic and all natural products as much as possible. Since they were weaned from nursing, they have been drinking Horizon organic milk that has no hormones or antibiotics or anything in it.....yes it was more expensive, but only by about 1 or so. Until today,  I went to the store and almost passed out $7.59 a gallon...are you kidding me???? Considering my 19 month old goes through a Gallon in less then a week. Can it really cost that much to make organic milk, I sure doubt it. I don't really want to change, but there is a point where enough is enough.

So I have to tell you about a new product that I found and I LOVE it!!!! Now I was a skeptic at first because this product is all natural....I am trying to go Green and organic as much as I can and I always thought that the cleaning products that were made that were all natural could in no way touch that chemical ones. Well this morning I decided to scrub my dining room floor which was sooo dirty. Since I have been sick and unable to do things around the house it was gross. So I got on my hands and knees and started cleaning....to my surprise it not only worked, but worked better then any chemical cleaning product I have ever tried......It not only cleaned great but it smelled great, with no chemical smell. I also didn't have to worry if my kids or pets accidental walked through it if it wasn't all the way dry. Although I still tried to keep them away from it, it was peace of mind.....I am a believer now and will never again go back to the chemicals I used before. After 2 hours, my floor looks great. I still have a little more to go, but my 19 month old was tired of me ignoring her.....IF you are interested it is called Ecover and here is the web address....try it, you will love it.

So today in the mail I received my new drivers license. Now I have not had a picture taken since my 16 yr old picture when I first got my license and that was 13 years ago. The thing about it, it was a GREAT picture. I loved it(which as you know is very rare for a DL) I always got comments about what a great picture it was....fast forward to today....I don't think I have ever seen such a bad picture. Do you think the DMV has special cameras that make you look horrible.....is it some cruel joke they like to play on you, or is that really how bad I look.

Anyhow, the reason that I am bringing this up is because a few weeks ago my children and I were in the car and I was talking to my 4 yr old and somehow the subject came up about being pretty. When out of nowhere my 4 year old says to me, "Mommy, I am so much prettier then you are"...wow what a shock..now don't get me wrong. I know that I am not the cream of the crop. but what happened to my innocent child who always thought mommy was the best mommy in the world and the prettiest.....I guess that is what happens when they grow up. I guess it is getting me ready for the teenage years when I can only hope that will be the worst thing that she will say to me.

So here is my dilemma....my 4 yr old has been going to the same preschool for about a year now and she really loves it. I didn't want a preschool/daycare for my child to go to so my choices in the Cameron Park/El Dorado Hills area was limited. I found a preschool through word of mouth from my moms group and everyone I talked to only had positive things to say about it. Like I said before, my daughter has loved it from day one and this June she will be going into Pre K and going 3 days per week. My dilemma is...this is an in home preschool. The lady who runs it also has one other teacher so that the ratio will be 6 to 1. Lately when I have been dropping her off there has been a couple of times when her teacher hasn't been there and she had a parent helping out for awhile. After inquiring where her teacher was I have been told a couple of times that she went to get her hair done, or she decided to work in the house today, or she is out shopping. I don't know why, but I have a problem with this....I am paying her to teach my child not someone else. Although I know that the other teacher that she has working for her is very good...shouldn't she be teaching the kids like I am paying her to. Am I wrong that this bothers me???? Should I not be concerned about it as long as she is learning and having fun and the ratio doesn't change...I mean it is only preschool.
