You get what you see
Normally, when I write, I try to be clever; I try to think of a new angle, a new way of approaching a familiar topic.

This week it's not gonna happen.

I can barely type correctly. Seriously, it's sad.

The really sad thing is that I don't know why I'm so pooped today. I mean, next week, when I actually start teaching is going to be much harder. This week was just meetings and running around.

So let's review.

Monday was Em's first day back in child care. Justin and I celebrated by going to watch The Dark Knight (super creepy and super good, by the way.) That was pretty much all we did, besides food shopping.

Tuesday was my first day of inservices. It wasn't a total waste of time, but I left in a pretty bleak place. It's only my second year at my school and I don't always feel like people take my experience seriously.

Wednesday was much better at work, but it was my first grad school class. It went okay. I don't think I made any friends though. They all wanted to start class earlier, and I was the only one who couldn't. Yeah, high school gets out later than elementary. Hello.

Thursday dragged. That was mostly because I was meeting friends for drinks. I got totally lost on the way there (urgh), but I had a great time (yay!)

Today was finally Friday. But this has always been an interesting day for me as a teacher. Some years I'm totally excited. Some I bummed out. Today I was just in denial. I cannot believe this summer is over already!

So now it's Friday night, and supposedly Justin and I are  going to watch Godfather II. I'm not sure if I'll make it through, especially given how hard it's been to just get though this post without spelling everything wrong. :)

i know this might sound strange, but it always helps me get through my days.  is there anyway you could exercise in the morning?  before everybody else wakes up?  when i worked at the high school in galt, i would get up at 5am, do my workout tape, then get ready and go.  still today if i don't go for my walk asap in the morning, my days are way way too long.  so since you don't have a huge commute, maybe you would have time to do your booty ballet!  it will definately perk you up!  and a herd of 10th graders love perky at 8am!!!

Oh, they do love me perky. Not! :) Nothing worse than an energetic teacher as far as a 15-year is concerned.

You are totally right about the morning exercise. I ran every morning this last week except Friday, and I felt really off all Friday. So far, I have been good about morning exercise. Hopefully, I can keep it up. First, it seems to help my blood sugar, and also I feel great. I've noticed that when you get it done in the morning you feel like you've really accomplished something.

OOOooo Godfather II!!!! One of my faves! (But I AM Italian, so go figure). This was a long week for me too, for no real good reason (you sound full of good reasons). I blame it on PMS. ;)
