hmoeckli - > Teacher by day, Mommy by night -> I need to go back on the pill
I need to go back on the pill
I hate the birth control pill. It makes me crazy, I throw up, and I gain weight. However, I'm not such a happy camper now either.

Before I had a kid, I had regular, lovely, short periods. My cycle was EXACTLY 30 days. No joke. I actually took the pregnancy test 12 hours after I was late and it popped up "PREGNANT" in less than a minute.

Now my periods are totally not predictable. My cycle is totally off: 27 days one month, 33 the next. And the PMS...wow, is all I can say.

I actually just took a pregnancy test. And it's broken, so I have to go to the store and get another one. Dang it.

I do think we want another child in the next couple years, but eventually that would be my first choice for Birth Control. I don't think he is on board with it though. He has the typical male mindset that the pill is a wonder drug and he doesn't understand my lack of enthusiasim for it.

Unless you would like another child, perhaps hubby can look into the snip snip. My husband has agreed to do it, but is dragging his feet.

I totally agree with  ToscaSac . There are MANY natural options that can make a HUGE difference. The pill may be convenient, but it really does screw with your hormones horribly and it's risky. Check out a copy of Nutritional Healing. Our Davis Food Co-Op has a copy for customers down the supplement isle. The Sacramento Co-Op might also.

I'm not pregnant! Whew! But I will definitely look into other bc methods. I'd really like to avoid the pill, but that might be the only good option. Also, I will try the calcium thing. I have heard that from other people too.

Yikes sounds like a roller coaster ride you can't get off. Can you do something simple and less altering like upping your calcium intake to regulate moods?

I am not sure what would help you regulate your cycle or get it back to pre pregnancy normal eerie as that might have been heheheheeh

For me I don't count the days and when there is no crazy mood swingy thingy I just notice the passing of it all and deal with it without batting an eye. That might be a bit eerie too but it beats what you are talking about and I know sometimes I have seen the difference calcium can make.

Water couldn't hurt either most people are under if not actually dehydrated and that is no good while your hormones are surging.

Until you get a handle on things know you are not alone. We've all been through some variation of hormone hell.

I was crying the other day. It wasn't hell but it isn't like me I just woke up on the emotional side of something and it was dreary and rainy too with co co on the stove and a movie I had no idea had a main character demise in it.............on came the water works shrug go figure.

Speaking of pregnancy and such the first, last and only time I tried to take the pill I was pregnant. 2 pills and I was done. Not quite sure what was wrong with me at the time but well here I am now hahaahhaah
