It's always about the journey
Life for me is always about the journey and not about the final destination. Once you meet your final destination things get re-organized, changed or just completely go in a different direction! I have learned so much about my weight loss journey. Four years ago I was 97 lbs heavier and to date I maintain a healthy weight of 138. I have always been a great mother and a devoted wife, but what did I mean to MYSELF? What did it say about my own self respect if I didn't take care of myself when I too busy loving and devoting my life to everyone and everything else? What life told me was that I wouldn't enjoy it for much longer! I was plagued with exhaustion, high cholesterol, underactive thyroid, apnea, insomnia and a plethora of other health problems. The vast majority of my problems stemmed from being over weight and being under active! It's now my life's work to motivate and inspire other women. I want to encourage women to dedicate one hour of their time every day to move, breathe and feel. We can say we don't have the time, but we have to MAKE the time. We are number one when it comes to our families. We have to keep our bodies in good working order to be able to keep up with demands. Below is a tip I give to all my new moms I train with when they have "my jeans don't fit-cabin fever & oh my gosh summer is coming" realization. Take a half hour for yourself and go for a brisk walk (stroller & friends can be included). Throw some lunges in the mix and wham-o, you have a lower body workout that will shape those legs in time for Spring! What really matters here is that these activities are good for your heart, mind, body & soul. Activities like these will increase your life span and allow you to love and nurture your family for years to come! Be Healthy and Love Life *remember always to consult a physican before engaging in any physical activity. 3 comments from 3 users

Thank you for the tips and advice. I used to be very good to myself, before kids. Now I don't find any time to exercise, let alone breath. I really need to find the time this year! And congratulations on your achievments!

I have never had weight issue as I am very active but I know how you can get cut off in mom's role and forget about own needs. Have an interesting journey in life.
