It's HOT!

That's right, the weather guy said it's supposed to reach 105 degrees tomorrow.  That is damn hot.  What to do with the childrens when it's that hot....  hmmmm....

  1. The nearest Rite Aid sells single scoops for $1.19.  And the really nice guy behind the counter always give us a little extra on top.
  2. Jump in the pool, and don't get out until it's bedtime.
  3. Go to the library.  Read quietly in the air conditioning.
  4. Go to a bowling ally, brush up on your game.
  5. Go to a movie.  Narnia is coming out this weekend.  (And we all know about the Sex coming out May 30!)
  6. Jamba Juice -- but only the 16 oz, because the larger ones are PACKED with calories and sugar.
  7. Popcicles for everyone!
  8. Walk Buddy  the dog right before bedtime and watch the pink and blue sky turn dark.
  9. Did I mention the ice cream?  The cotton candy flavor is really good.
  10. Find all the fans from the garage, and plug them in.
  11. Go to a park with those water sprinkly spouty things.
  12. Run through the sprinklers.
  13. Sleep on top of the covers.
  14. Make homemade ice cream.  Then, of course, eat it.

Just some suggestions to beat the heat.  Don't forget the sunscreen!

I totally agree with creatress' idea to "get outta town".  I was in San Francisco last night for the Giants game, and it was 70 degrees at 11:00 at night!  Awesome baseball weather.

You can't go wrong with a Snoopy Snow Cone machine!

This is my second summer here, and I HATE the weather. I'm trying to get used to it, but it's not working so far. I'm from Hayward, where it never gets hotter than 80. Boo.  (You'll all have to excuse my whining: the air-conditioning in my classroom broke today and just imagine 35 15-year-olds having to cope with physical discomfort...not fun.)

I hate the heat and I'll take any suggestion to deal with it... I have to say I like creatress idea of just going away.

LOVE your suggestions! Great idea to share them.

Everytime this year I think "WHY THE HECK DO I LIVE IN SAC AGAIN?!" I'm really not a hot weather person.

Another suggestion I have (if you have the time, money and stamina), is to get out of town. Monterey is closer than it seems and the weather there is always wonderful. Runaway to the beach for a day (or the aquarium). SF is a little closer and much cooler. You could also runaway there. They have some great childrens museums, as does San Jose.

Those are great ideas! Yesterday my son ran through the sprinkler all afternoon,it made him so tired it was great for me I just put my feet in a bucket of cold water and tanned & sipped on rasberry tea with a umbrella.  The little guy is sleeping so good tonight..
