I’m a big loser!
It’s been 7 days now since I embarked on my quest for better health. I’m happy to report that I’m already down 4lbs. It’s not what the scale says though, I’m proud of myself just for my improvements. I’m caring for myself much more than before. Thinking about what I eat, why I’m eating, when I’m eating and how. I savor my food more (and only eat at the table). I try and get SOME kind of exercise every day. Mostly walking the dogs, but I have some fun exercise videos coming from our Netflix account soon (yes, what a great discovery that was! They have exercise tapes). I think the biggest help has been my book. I took a few pictures of some pages here for you. Yes, I really do use my SacMomsClub bookmark for it. I got a lot of good magazines last week and cut out things I really liked out of them. Some are just words of enrouagements, others reminded me of It also helped knowing I have so many moms here pulling for me. Knowing I had to account for myself to you all was a real motivator. I will end this week’s health update with some great products I discovered and are working well for me. Enjoy! -Yoplait Whips (I HATE yogurt, but love the texture of the whips. I like the Lemon Meringue and Key Lime Pie flavors. I really feel like I’m eating pie!) -CURVES chocolate peanut bars (I don’t like breakfast, but one of these with coffee or tea is a tasty, easy, fast start to the day. Only 100calories each) -Spicy V8 (I’m not a vege eater, so I like to sneak it in. I pretend it’s a Bloody Mary and it’s my mid-day treat! I also discovered if you drink a glass before you eat, you aren’t as hungry!) -Flat Earth Baked Veggie Crisps – Garlic & Herb Field (Great with a Bocca burger or sandwich. Yum! “½ daily serving of real veges in every ounce”) -Turkey Sausage (I’m trying to eat more protein in the morning. Even my son loved this!) On a side note, a few more tips: -Water (I’ve been drinking tons) -Eat when hungry, stop when full -Eat at the table, ALWAYS! -Don’t over-think exercise. Just do it. It’s not an option or up for discussion. Just go! Hope you’re all having a great week! 13 comments from 9 users

Hey Woman! Great to hear you are feeling proud of what you've been up to and that it's paying off in ways you can measure. I stopped eating pork a while ago and have found we love turkey replacements too from sausage and bacon to ground turkey tho perhaps not as much yet. It's a good change. Carry on I know you are an inspiration and this will benefit many others. posted by

Congratulations Creatress! You are doing awesome. I like the idea of the V-8. Have you tried the V-8 Fusion that is the mix of the fruit and veggie juice? It's pretty good too, but it may not give you the same satisfaction that you are having with your happy hour. Keep up the great work.Â

Thanks G4GW. I have tried V-8 Fusion. But it's been while. I remember it having a lot of sugar, but I could be wrong. I like the spicy V-8 better. The fusion was a little thick and sweet for me. I like salty-spicy over sweet. Thanks for the cheer maymom! I'm hoping my Netflick exercise video comes today (since it's raining). posted by

I am so happy for you! Hiding vegetables is the key! I make blended soups with every veg I find hanging in my refrigirator. If you like salty, spicy things just add some spicy salsa to it. My girls love it and never know what kind of goodies in there. For them I just add some cream to a soup and I add pickle juice! I love fuzing my food. Its helpful to have nutrition counting program or check online. Worse is to go out! They know how to hide calories and make food taste good. I know it since do nutrition facts for the restaurant's menu.Good luck and lets have a walk together! posted by

Go Creatress! I'm on my own improved health journey so I look for all of the support that I can get. I love your journal! I journal too not only about food but my family, work, etc. My goal is to utilize that tool a lot more than I do. I have been doing Weight Watchers since April so I track what I eat everyday... well almost every day. :) I have let go of about 45 lbs now! It could have been 50 but the holidays were rough! But I'm back on track now and that's is what matters. You have to check out hungry-girl.com. She does a lot of work for those of us looking for healther food alternatives. I'll look forward to reading your blog and seeing your progress! ~ carly posted by

Thanks lenadawkins. That's a great tip about making your own soup by blending veges. I made a mushroom soup last week that my husband and I liked, but my son hated. He's quite the junk food lover, so I have a harder time sneaking healthy food to him that he likes. Luckily we all love tangerines and it's a great time of year for good ones. posted by
