I Did It!
On Sunday, I ran my first 5k. I finished it, feeling like I could have run another 3+ miles. I also finished at a personal best time. I am very, very proud of myself!
Two months ago, if you would have asked me if I'd be running a 5k so soon, I would have told you that you were crazy. I'm happy to admit that I've grossly underestimated myself. I'm even happier that I'm so gung-ho for future races. Big Man wasn't able to be at the run (for obvious reasons), but he sent me text messages telling me how proud he was of me and that I was going to kick ****. He was the first person I called when I finished. When I left the boys that morning, they both said "Mommy's running!" and Lee added a "Bye, Mom!". (Yes, he's two, and he's already calling me "mom" instead of "mommy". Whatever.) I'm lucky to have a family that's so supportive of my newest obsession. I'm hoping that Big Man will ride his bike alongside me once in a while, as I push the boys in the jogging stroller. On a straight, flat path, of course. :) Gotta run! Yay! That's amazing girl. You ROCK!!!! I sure hope you're running in shoes that fit good so you don't have the black toe nail problem anymore. You looked so amazing the last time I saw you. Healthy and glowing. I'm so happy that it went good for you. posted by

CONGRATULATIONS!
You are doing what I always wished I could do. Running seems to be so liberating. I guess you see now that you should never underestimate yourself again. You've got the power in you. Awesome!
So, what's your next race?
