TwinkiesMom - > I'm Just Saying... -> Britney Spears: Train Wreck or Victim?
Britney Spears: Train Wreck or Victim?

Am I the only one who is just appalled at Britney Spears' behavior?! I completely understand that she likely has a legitimate mental illness, but someone in her position has every option available for treatment...so why isn't she being treated?'

After a few discussions around the water cooler, I haven't really come to a conclusion whether or not to feel sorry for her. On one hand I say, "Pull it together, sister, or you won't be able to see your kids!" The other hand says "Poor Britney, it must be hard living in the spotlight all the time."

I think the bottom line for me is that it looks like she brings most of this mess on herself. So for that, I don't feel sorry for her. I feel sorry for her kids, as ultimately, they will be the ones to pay the price.

As mothers, I think we can all agree that it's our worst nightmare to raise kids who think the rules don't apply to them, which seems to be the case for Britney. (Mental illness and poor judgement aside.) Although there are many child stars who let fame go to their head, there are some who don't, but you don't really hear much about them.

Since my kids are now High School Musical fanatics, I was reading an article about Zac Efron recently where he was being very modest about his fame. He said "If it weren't for one Disney audtion a few years ago, I'd be just like 2,000 other blue-eyed, brown-haired guys in Los Angeles." Well said, Zac...maybe next time you could come to Britney's bedside with your words of wisdom instead of Dr. Phil.

I'm just sayin'....

My two cents.

Dr. Phil's a womanizing shmuck
Britney is nuts and I'm sick of hearing about her and looking at her puffy face
I feel HORRIBLE for her kids, but thank goodness their dad is stepping up.

Her mom should be the poster mom of what NOT to do when you have kids. What a nutty family. You know it's bad when K-Fed is looking like Super Dad!

Thankfully we are all here not remotely close to this mess can we all just say amen?

I think the sad sad sad truth is the only thing unique about Brittany's situation is Brittany. Which is to say many people are suffering with mental illnesses and addictions in all walks of life and tax brackets.

Public figures just have to go through it for all to see. I think the families would say the same things they desperately want their loved ones to shape up and get right or get into treatment. It is not about the money and the fame they are just all amplifiers for the mess.

I feel bad for anyone so screwed up they loose custody of their kids. And I do think that the hollywood machine grinds up people to a pulp. Brit maybe an extreme case but the tragic tales are not new or isolated.

Happens everyday. Over and over again. Those of us watching can judge but that helps no one. Which reminds me to focus on my life and daughter and do the best I can for us both. That is my assignment for now.

Society is just getting worse and worse as we get away from what really matters into all the glitz ,glamour and more we can aquire and get into. A sick cycle I try to reveal to my daughter so she can stay clear of getting caught up in it. A scourge all by itself without addiction or mental illness to add to the mix.

I think Britany keeps her self in the spotlight so no one forgets about her.  I think she likes it otherwise she would get her act together.  I can't understand who would do this to thier kids lives.

For a while I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt.  Young, beautiful, rich hollywood starlet who meets back-up dancer, pot smoking, money grubing man who is only interested in partying like a rock star on his wifes dime.  But now, enough is enough.

I have no respect for someone, rich or poor, who continually brings innocent children into dangerous situations on an ongoing basis.

Come on' she looses her kids and then takes off to Mexico, then won't go into court because too many cameras are surrounding her but yet can make her way into a Subway bathroom with just as many cameras to pee while pulling one of the photographers in with her.

Trashy just trashy...  she needs to get her butt to court, stay in her house and dissapear for a while.
