My Knitting Saga - or - Weaving It All Together
So, I recently took up knitting. Life is pretty hectic in my house. I am a WAHM to my triplets. Thank goodness they go to T-kindergarten in the morning everyday!
There was my ‘Ah-Hah!’ moment. Maybe taking up knitting was my subconscious trying to find a way to weave the strands of my life together. A physical manifestation of my mental needs... 4 comments from 3 users

You are right about the therapeutic part. I am trying to learn to rib now on my practice piece. I have to say (in my head) 'knit, purl,knit,purl...". If my mind starts to wander, I forget which I just did. So, in that way, it is sort of like meditating. I did figure out a way to figure out which stitch I just completed but studying what the yarn looks like like you suggested. And, in the process of all this I figured out I am more comfortable with the English method of holding the yarn I am working off of in my left hand. Anyway, thanks for all your help and pointers! Creatress, That website is great! I bookmarked it. AS for finding the spare moment; Instead of knitting in front of the TV like I planned (I still have to look at my hands to much), I have found the time to do it by sitting with TripletDad as he practices guitar at night. He has recently taken it up again and he uses a program on the laptop as a learning tool so I can't be doing work or emailing while he practices. I used to read during this time. But It has been very cozy lately spending time in the same room for an hour a night working on different things, but side-by-side. It is a bit of a juxtaposition - him with his Electric guitar and me with my knitting. My brother commented, "How modern" LOL! posted by

I stink at knit and crochet, but it doesn't stop me from trying. My in-laws all knit like crazy however and are super talented at it. My sister-in-law suggested this website to me, as I can't learn anything like that from a book. It's wonderful with streamline videos. SUPER helpful. http://www.knittinghelp.com... I'm glad you found a few precious seconds to squeeze in a new hobby. Good for you! posted by
