Thanks to all of you that stopped by the SMC booth at the Yeah Baby Expo this past weekend. I had fun meeting the moms that post pictures, blogs and participate in the forums on this site. And for those moms that just cruise through the site…register so we can learn from your mom experiences, too! Check out these pictures of the finalists and their moms in the Beautiful Baby contest. Sophia (pictured first) was the grand prize winner and received a $500 gift card to Babies R Us. One finalist could not be there on Sunday so Sophia, Gabriel, Tristen and Blake were on hand with their families. Each won a goodie bag from SMC including a $25 babyGap gift card. In the next few weeks, SacMomsClub.com will be at several community events. If you plan on attending any of the following events, please stop by our booth and say hello. Eating together as a family is a great way to spend quality time together, but with work, practice and other commitments, sometimes it’s hard to find time when everyone is home. Share with other moms how you spend time together whether it’s over breakfast, lunch, dinner or even snack time. As I was driving to work this morning, there was nothing unusual about the minivan in front of me...until I noticed the license plate frame. Top frame: I make milk. Bottom frame: What's your superpower? This immediately made me laugh because I could relate. I nursed my son until he was 13 months old and I'm currently nursing my 7 month old daughter. Yeah, I make milk. But a superpower? Well now that you mention it, of course! Share with us any license plate frames, bumper stickers or other amusing sayings that you think could make another mom laugh. Or better yet, what would your superpower be? SacMomsClub.com will be at several community and family related events this spring. We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic moms to help staff our booth. Our first big event is the Yeah Baby Family Expo at Cal Expo on February 23rd and 24th. If you are interested in more information, email sacmomsclub@sacbee.com. Nicknames can be cute, funny and sometimes well, annoying. Share with us the nicknames you have for your kids, friends or significant others.
It's fun listening to your kids expand their vocabulary and express themselves, but sometimes they say too much! Share with us a funny or embarrassing quote or story from your kids and it could be featured in the next issue of Kidaround Magazine.
The Sacramento Tree Foundation is presenting a special lecture by Richard Louv, author of Last Child in the Woods, on Thursday, February 7 at the Crest Threatre. Refreshments and book signing will be at 5:30PM and the lecture will begin at 6:30PM. Learn how children can benefit from more time outdoors reconnecting with the natural environment. Tickets are $15 and available by calling (800) 225-2277, online at tickets.com or at the door. SacMomsClub.com is also giving away five pairs of tickets. Enter on the "win" page. SMC will also be on site the evening of the event. We welcome you to stop by our booth. |
