One of the great things about SacMomsClub.com is the community we are building in the region.  As I read the posts and blogs I see how much we all have in common and how much we have to share with each other.

So, here's my October share for all of you.  With Halloween almost upon us, it's time for the annual tradition of "Boo"ing our neighbors.  I have no idea where the tradition started, but it's definitely something my family looks forward to each year.  We like to be the first ones to start the "Boo" and then we watch as each house puts the "Boo" gram on their door.

This year I went to the dollar store to get my loot.  You start with two baskets, bags or other Halloween theme containers and put some candy and cheap treats inside.  Print out two copies of the "Boo" gram from this link http://www.theborkowskis.com/halloween/halloweenbooing.p df

Then plan your strategy.  You need to identify 2 neighbors to "Boo" and the key is to not get caught dropping off the goods.  We like to do it early in the morning, we just leave the package and don't ring the bell.  Some of our more adventurous neighbors ring the bell and run - the old doorbell ditch way.  Whatever you do, just do it and have fun watching what you started spread throughout the neighborhood!

Let me know how it goes - Happy Boo-ing!

The cool morning air is getting me excited about Fall.  The leaves are beginning to change, school has started and life is marching along.  It's time for Pumpkins and Apples!

SacMomsClub.com would love to see your photos from trips to pumpkin farms or Apple Hill.  You can post them on our Brag Book - you need to be a registered user to do this - and we'll draw two winners at random to win a $25 gas card.

So, not only are you getting out of the house and giving your kids something fun to do...they get to be famous on SacMomsClub.com and you might win free gas!  As my 6-year old would say..."How cool is that?"  Very, I think.  Click and Post away!

I keep getting this question, so let me clarify...SacMomsClub.com is not really a club in the sense that we don't have a membership roster, officers or meetings.  SacMomsClub.com is more of a destination web site for families.  We have "Club" in the name because it signifies a place where you can belong and we want you to feel like you belong here!

When we launched this site, our hope was to create a place where parents can find everything they need to navigate family life.  The site is set up to allow for many things...personal connections on the discussion forums, a place to sound off about your thoughts and experiences in our blog area, a comprehensive list of local and national parenting resources,  and of course a one-stop place for community events in the area.

I'm finding that many of the moms groups in the area are finding us and using the site to communicate about things that are happening, recruiting new members and starting discussions on topics their groups have brought up.  We hope that this site will be a central place where moms throughout the region can find what they need to parent, including friends and support.

To that end, as the site evolves, I'm hoping we'll be able to have some SacMomsClub.com special "events" for registered users that will include special discounts to area venues on a certain day among other things.  Let me know if you have some ideas, we'd love to hear from you.

By the way...have you checked out the Polar Express Contest on the "Win" page?  This event happening in Old Sac in December looks amazing and we have the exclusive ticket contest.  Of course if you don't want to try your luck on the contest, tickets are on sale now and I hear they are going fast.
