My favorite vacation spot is the beach. It doesn't matter which beach but because I don't really go in the water. I think there is nothing more relaxing than staring out accross the water all the way to the horizon. Walking along the shore barefoot also takes me back to childhood and has a way of making you feel totally carefree.

Right now our son loves any beach and thinks any beach is "Tiki Beach" of Backyardigans fame. We look forward to spending time digging and playing in the water.

Favorite vacation spot for the family will always be the beach--San Diego in particular. I wish I was there now :)

We love to go to Santa Barbara. The zoo is small and can be easily finished in about two hours (great for a toddler!), and it has a small train for kiddies and their parents. We stayed at a hotel in Solvang, near Santa Barbara, which is a quaint Danish town with great bakeries and restaurants and cool windmills. You can also visit Mission Santa Barbara or Mission Santa Ines. posted by

Our favorite summer vacation spot would be the Lake Tahoe area. Hanging out and strolling hand in hand along the on the beach at Lake Tahoe (the famous marriage proposal in 2000 on Reagan's Beach he was down on one knee)riding our bikes during the day, shopping on the strip, a tram ride up to heavenly, Drinks at the bar at the top of Heavenly overlooking the Lake with the breath taking view, an early dinner cruise on the Tahoe Queen on the lake, dinner at the top of the mark at Harrah's, Summer concerts at Harvey's and gambling into the late hours of the night ! Those were the days! Alhough we haven't been there in a while....seems like a new arrival to our family during the summertime these last few years has curtailed our summer vacation plans. We are anxiously awaiting a trip back to start some family traditions with the little ones! I have never been to the Monterey area.....but here it is breathtaking! Especially the beach! posted by

Our family loves to go to Aptos. Just below Santa Cruz, above Monterey and on the ocean. What more could a family want. It's beautiful there and the weather for the spring, summer and fall is wonderful. The young kids (2-4) love the beach and looking for seashells. And they will be more than glad to tell you just how "yucky" seaweed smells! Love it!

Our favorite spot has always been the Monterey Bay Aquarium. My first visit there as a young child was as treasured to me as my first time to Disneyland. My whole family loves the ocean and there is no place like it on earth. We've made a drive each time they did the ground breaking research and had a Great White in their Outer Bay tank. One of the highlights of my life, hands down. My husabnd and I have shared many special trips to Monterey together, as well as fun family vacations. Some of these highlights have been: ~My son scuba diving in the aquarium's children's program there for a few hours (priceless pictures!) ~Seeing both a sea otter AND a great white shark poop. We loved that treat! ~Having a pic nic with my grandparents at the beach. ~Taking my son there as a reward for coming with me to the summer art camp I taught years ago. I told him I'd buy him any stuffed animal he wanted as a reward. He picked the biggest otter they had, about 4feet long. Still a treasure to him. I've always wanted to stay at the Monterey Plaza, the place looks amazing. We try to stay at a new hotel each trip and have yet to find a favorite. The aquarium just re-opened their child-friendly exhibit, Splash Zone, so now is a great time to plan your trip! posted by

hi...yes...our favorite vacation spot is Disneyland. I guess a lot of people feel that way but it's true. When we are at Disneyland we all feel like kids again. I seem to be able to forget about all my troubles..check them at the entrance gate and just run and walk with the boys till we are ready to drop. In fact, we just got back from DIsneyland last Friday. We spend 2 days in Disneyland and 1 day at Universal Studios. My 5 year old was too young to remember Disneyland when we were there 2 years ago...so he had the time of his life there last week. In fact, we all had the time of our lives.

My families favorite vacation spot is Disneyland. We are all kids again we visit there. I remember taking my daughter when she was 15. It rained and rained but it was great. Disneyland was able to keep most of the rides open and we donned slickers and rode all the rides over and over again. there were no lines or crowded so it was like the park was all ours. It was wet but it was great.

Our families favorite vacation spot is camping in Tahoe. You can invite everyone. Get a few sites and just pop up tents. Hiking, campfire, the lake are all fun things to do as a family.
