I was a HUGE Kings fan when I was in middle school and my favorite player, Bobby Hurley, was going to be a JC Penny's doing an autograph signing.  I was standing in line preparing in my head what I wanted to say to him and when I finally got up there all I could say was Hi in a squeaky voice.  I still can't believe how dorky I was.

On a flight from Las Vegas to Sacramento, I saw Scott Pollard, who was then playing for the Sacramento Kings.  Being a Kings fan, I immediately began looking for something on which I could get his autograph.  Having travelled light, all I could find was the barf bag in from seat pocket in front of me.  He gave me a funny look at my request, but signed the barf bag with a grin!

My uncle is Dick Cable from the Channel 10 news!  He isn't reporting anymore, but people still remember him!

I've also met John Travolta~  Granted I was two and don't remember it, but my mom said I made him smile.

I've also met Pete Wilson, John Garamendi, Heather Fargo, and a few assembly members from Sacramento.

I am a state worker and represented our department last year in coordinating California State Employees Charitable Campaign. At the end of this tremendously successful campaign, we have a very nice annual Thank You Luncheon at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento Hotel. Over 200 people attended, including our Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. He shared his experience as a Chair of the statewide campaign and thank you everybody for generous donations. His appearance was very unexpected (it was not listed in the event program), but definitely pleasant and memorable surprise for a lot of attendees.

When I was still in college, I used to listen to Duncan Sheik a lot.  He was having a concert in the bay area and I bought my tickets for my friend and I.  I was super excited.  We parked the car and was putting our things in the trunk and when I turn around, who do i see?  Lo and behold, it's Duncan Sheik.  I left my friend in the dust and ran towards him and dork that I am, I asked if I could have a picture with him.  He was very nice and accomadating.  I was cloud nine for about a week.  That was probably 7 years ago and I still have that picture.  And, it was a fantastic concert.

We were on a trip to Disneyland last October for my birthday, my nephew's birthday, my mom's birthday, and my dad's birthday **whew**; but anywho, we were walking past the Haunted Mansion and we saw Travis Barker and his wife, Shayna.  I was star struck and thought it would be so cool to meet them and take a picture.  Well the next morning we were waiting to have breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen and in walks Travis, his wife, and his kids!  I was not going to let this opportunity get away again!  So I got up the courage and asked if he would be willing to take a picture with me and my son, Aaron!  He said yes and he was so nice too!  Love it!!  I was so star-struck I was shacking for the next 20 minutes!

I shook Bill Clinton's hand when he was still in office - no, I was not his intern!

I saw Rob Lowe in Cesar's in Lake Tahoe. He was eating ice cream. I didn't have the nerve to say anything to him, so I just made it more obvious and walked by him like 10 times.

My father-in-law used to be a limo driver in Tahoe. Among the slew of celebs he would drive around, he drove Elvis a lot. My husband and sis-in-law almost had a play-date with Lisa Maria once.

My husband also worked at Baby Gap in LA and waited on a ton of celebs. Plus went to a party at the Playboy Mansion as a college guy.

when i lived in minneapolis, i worked as a waitress in this hole in the wall chinese food restaurant.  ( i've found none as good btw) people i've seen in the restaurant:

1) peter, paul and mary.  rude, rude, rude
2) cindy Lauper.  awesome to the bone marrow
3) darryl hannah.  not much to say there
4) weezer.  ubercool

also since prince-or symbol-or the artist formerly known as prince-is from st. paul, he is a staple in the area.  he has a huge house and studio (paisley park) out in the burbs and at the time, on friday nights he would open up his club area of the place and have a free, safe place for underage kids to go.  he would occaionally perform and if not, he was always hanging around.  he is super super freindly and very approachable.  and he is tiny.  i mean itty bitty.

i love all of these stories!

I got on stage with Sammy Hagar at the Concord Pavillion with my friend Jen and gave us each a kiss, that was the greatest night.  My brother in law worked for a production Co. and I also met Smokey Robinson and received a kiss.  We also attending his VIP party after his concert at the Memorial Auditorium.  I am going to see Sammy here in August and hope to get as close as last time.....wish me luck!

Two years ago we were in Carmel wandering around, when my husband turns away from me and walks up to a man and shakes his hand.  He comes back and says "That is Anthony Hopkins! Do you have your camera so we can take a picture?" Of course I did, and now we have a great family photo with Anthony Hopkins :).

My office produces an annual awards show in Hollywood so I've had the pleasure of meeting Stevie Wonder, John Landis (I gushed over the work he did on Michael Jackson's Thriller video), Barry Manilow, Joe Mantegna, James Avery, Jason George, Mindy Sterling (LOVE The Office), Camryn Manheim, Robert Guiallme, etc. At concerts I've met Brian Mcknight and Beyonce.

But my fun celebrity stories are the ones where I have no idea who the heck the person is. In 2000, I was standing in line back stage at a concert waiting to get Brian McKnight's autograph. My friend went to the bathroom and I started to make small talk with the guys behind me. They were super tall so I broke the ice by saying, "either I'm very short (I'm 5 feet) or you guys are very tall." We start talking about random stuff like the weather and what we ate for dinner and then I blurted out, "not to stereotype you or anything but have you ever thought about playing basketball?" They said they play now and then with friends. When my friend comes back from the bathroom she puts the death grip on my arm and asks me if I know who I'm talking to. I mention to the guys that I didn't catch their names...turns out it was Chris Webber and Latrell Sprewell.

Last summer my daughter went to Kevin Martin's basketball camp. On the first day when I went to pick her up I walked into the gym and watched the coaches working with the kids. One of the coaches came and stood next to me to observe from the side and take a break. I start to ask him how my daughter is doing and he tells me she's a great ball player and can really handle her own on the court with the boys. Then I ask if he's just working for the camp as part of a summer job. He smiles and nods...a few kids run over and ask to take a picture with him. I'm trying to figure out why they want a picture with some kid working at basketball camp...you know where I'm going with this...it was Kevin Martin. I don't follow basketball and people had told me that most celebrities who put their names on these camps don't usually show up so I wasn't actually expecting him to be there.

When I was 16 years old my mom and dad took me and my sister to Hawaii. We stayed at the illikai hotel which was a popular hotel back in it's day. One day I was sitting by the pool when Elvis Presley walked out by the pool with a group of his body guards or friends. I could only look up at him with my mouth hanging open I guess. He looked down and said "how you doing ?". I think I mumbled something like "fine". He turned then and walked back inside the hotel. Later that day as I was about to take the elevator and go up to my parents room, who should walk into the hotel? Priscilla Presley! She didn't say anthing to me but I had to stop and stare again. She had the big black hair and black eye liner caked on just like you've seen in early pictures of her. I know I'll never forget that experience. Since then I've run into celebrities here and there. Danny Thomas and his family having dinner at the restaurant in Harrah's at Lake Tahoe. Sac Kings Bobby Jackson at Lowe's in Citrus Heights. Sammy Davis Jr at Scofield Army Base in Hawaii where he was doing a show. Mike Bibby at Home Depot in Roseville. But Elvis tops them all. He was so handsome!
