Happy Father's Day

Father's Day is rapidly approaching. I started thinking about how hard it was (and still is) to buy my dad ANYTHING for any occasion, let alone for Father's Day. He's a very practical, no frills kinda man. As a kid, I usually resorted to making cards and giving him my art projects. As an adult, I've relied on pictures of my kids and their home made crafts.

Tell us about some of the gifts (good, bad or otherwise)you have given the father figure in your life. Or instead of gifts, how do you celebrate?

Any Dads out there? Let's hear from you!

My dad is the hardest man in the world to buy for.  He's the no frills kinda guy as well and anything he needs, be buys for himself.  In the past I resorted to socks and shirts or, like many others, the typical photo in the frame.  One year, my sister and I actually got him one of those California Dusters for his '62 Chevy Bel Air.  That was a gift he really liked, but I thought was actually a little less than he deserved.  It's funny because the gift he liked the most was the silliest gift of all.  It was 4 years ago and I was walking through Target and saw that little snowglobe-like item that had the golf ball in it, anyone know what I'm talking about?  It's got the tee in there and you're supposed to try to get the golf ball on the tee in the middle of the globe?  Anyway, it was only about $15, but it kept him occupied for what seemed like hours.  He still talks about how much fun he has playing with it.  I wish all my gifts were that successful.
