I have so many things I would like to accomplish.  Of course the usual suspects 1. loose baby weight (35 pounds) 2. read at least 5 books 3. take up a new only me hobby........

but I would also really like to:

In the near future, bundle the family up and take off to the snow so my 18 month son and 6 month daughter can see and feel it for the first time.

In the spring, I would like to buy bikes for my husband and myself with child attachment devices so we can take off down the American River trail for some good exercise and beautiful scenery.

Over spring break I would like to travel to Missouri to visit my husband's family and decide if in the future that would be the place to retire while still in my 30's and not tied to a California outrageous mortgage that will require us to work until our 70's to pay it off.

In the summer, we have no need to travel or even leave the house if it were not for needing to make a living.  All we need now resides in the backyard with our newly built pool, BBQ and cabanna area - no longer will sand inhibit areas of children's bodies you didn't think possible.

And finally, completely unrealistically, I plan to play the lottery at least once a week and enter as many publisher clearing house contests as possible -- I figure 2008 is my year for big fortune besides Ed keeps telling me that someone with the initial NR is going to win... :)

My daughter and I are going to a health spa in Ojai for the very first time for both of us.  We will go in May when they have a half-price special for daughters.  She is 40 years old and married  with a teenager of her own, so you can see I'm not a "new" mom.

We will eat healthy meals and exercise together and watch the sunsets and take long walks and talk and laugh - lots of laughing.  Carrie is my best friend now and we deserve this time together, if for no other reason than that we both survived her teen years.

I plan to clean out my closets and make tons of money on my outgrown kids summer clothes by selling them at the Just Between Friends Consignment Sale at the Sacramento Convention Center March 14 - 16.   www.jbfsale.com/sacramento

I lost my baby weight (thank goodness I can bring my baby to Weight Watchers), but my clothes still fit funky, so my goal is to lose the C-section paunch and 15 more lbs.  I guess that means I'll actually have to exercise... =)

Ahhh...2008 - you came so fast!  Lucky for you, I've been thinking about this so I am prepared!

I've already begun my newest, out-of-the-blue resolution:  family scrapbooking.  My girls and I have started spending time together, oozing creativity and building tangible memories.  So far this has helped my daughters understand that every moment in their life is a memory (not all good) and how very important it is to appreciate what we have.

Now for the cliche:  lose weight!  And not just a few pounds, more like 100 pounds...  I may be both mom and dad in my home, but there certainly is no reason to actually occupy room for 2!  2007 was a tough year for me, many changes and medical challenges - I admit at times I gave up.  However, it just isn't in my nature to roll over.  This is my year to reclaim everything that is ME.  And get rid of the excess, lol.  Exercising, eating right, and calorie-count.com will become my new best buddies.  And the lessons my daughters will learn of both excess and healthy living is just gravy!

Financial Security:  there's a shocker!  Aren't we all looking for it?  I've spent the last 4 months developing a business - now, 2008, is the time to break out and realize SUCCESS!  Watch for me on Oprah, where she will be interviewing me about my new book, "From Welfare to Wall Street".  Just believe...

Letting Go:  leaving the nest. Amidst losing weight, pouring myself into the success of my business, and the general mayhem of being a mom - this year will bring a new challenge:  learning to let my daughter go as she starts her new life as a college student.  This will admittedly be a tough one and I'm already girding my "emotional" loins.  With luck and prayer, this will go off without a hitch - I realize that she is ready for this and yes, I've done a pretty good job with her.  I WILL trust in myself that I've prepared her for life.

Final thoughts...the most important thing for me to accomplish this year is continued support, understanding, and academic involvement with my daughters - as well as learning to truly appreciate ME.

Where did the time go.. 2008 came so fast but everthing is falling in its place......

Just being and staying healthy is my goal for myself and all of my family members.  Money comes money goes but when the health is gone, it may not come back.

Started my own business about a year ago, www.chefbambino.com and that is going much better than I expected. Hope it contines!

As fas as vacation, we are planning to have a month trip to Turkey to see families and stay in our own home that we have purchased about a year ago.  It just completed, so we are happy that we now have our summer vacation home ;-))

And last but not least, I wish piece for the world.
