Fun Fairs & Festivals - A BIG list
Hey Ladies! Last year, I made a list of all the fairs and festivals that sounded fun or were somewhat close or were somehere that we would like to visit as a family. I marked them all on our family calendar and when we were looking for something fun to do, there was always a reference for a fun fair or festival to go to ... A few times we have even planned vacations around them - For example, last year we found out about family day at Calaveras Big Trees State Park. We have always wanted to go there, but hadn't because we didn't think the kids could be good for a whole weekend lookign at trees. So, we scheduled a long weekend vacation for the same weekend as family day - so we got to see the Big Trees and other area attractions like Historic Columbia and the kids got to spend a day seeing puppet shows, doing crafts in the middle of the park, touching snakes and reptiles, going on old time carriage rides through the park, climbing on fire engines and more! Here is my list, updated for 2008! Nevada City Mardi Gras Celebration Spam Festival Cloverdale Citrus Fair Santa Cruz Clam Chowder Cook Off & Festival Capay Valley Almond Festival Northern Sierra Food Wine Music Celebration Sacramento Festival of the Arts Chinese New Year Flower Fair Mendocino Whale Festival Calaveras Celtic Faire Dublin St. Patrick’s Day Festival California Capital Airshow St. Patrick’s Day Parade Red Bluff Round-Up Strawberry Festival Asparagus Festival Butter and Egg Days Great Petaluma Chili Cook-off, Salsa, and Beer Tasting Dixon May Fair Backyard Bird and Butterfly Festival The Annual Castroville Artichoke Festival The California Strawberry Festival Old Town Temecula Western Days Sacramento County Fair Mule Days Celebration The 21st annual California Festival of Beers Sacramento Jazz Jubilee Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival Patterson Apricot Festival Fairfield Summerfest Family Festival and Car Show Live Oak Park Fair Portugal Day Festival North Beach Festival The Isleton Crawdad Festival Placer County Fair Pismo Beach Classic Car Show Northern California Blues Festival California Worldfest California Peach Festival Gilroy Garlic Festival Benicia Waterfront Festival Elk Grove Summerfest Nevada County Fair Yolo County Fair West Coast 4th Annual BBQ Championship Fairfield Annual Tomato Festival Bodega Bay Seafood, Art, and Wine Festival California Exposition State Fair Gold Rush Days Gold Country Fair Yuba City Cultural Celebration Lodi Grape Festival and Harvest Fair Oaks Chicken Festival Ghirardelli Square Chocolate Festival Oroville Salmon Festival Avocado Festival Placer Farm & Barn Tourn Harvest Days Pumpkin Festival Calabasas Pumpkin Festival Annual Auburn Christmas Craft and Music Festival Harvest Festival Mountain Mandarin Festival Victorian Christmas, 2007 Annual Cornish Christmas 4 comments from 4 users

This really is a great list! I've got another fair to add, too. Especially for those who have little girls (but little boys would probably have fun, too) there is also the Fall Fairy Festival in Fair Oaks at the Fair Oaks Community Clubhouse on October 25th. Thanks a bunch hope to see you on the circuit!
