Just dont be lazy, greedy and selfish.

I have to say, i may be an odd duck to many people but i would appriciate a good usable recycled gift over some cheap store bought bobble any day. Even the so called NON cheap bobbles just boil my blood. If I want to be wasteful of my own money and buy something selfish....well then i will do just that and buy it for myself.

I would much rather have a friend or relative find a way to save themselves money and save the environment a bit by giving me and my kids recycled gifts. People dont seem to understand my thinking. I guess they think that is tacky. Oh i say screw the nay sayers and the poo pooers. Those people to me just want to fit some kind of non existant societal "rule" that for it to have real value we had to buy it from the big corporation.

Its one of the reason i hate having birthday parties for my kids. I dont want all that plastic, lead painted crap in my kids room filling there heads that this is what life is supposed to be like. Ya know that kid with too much stuff that they dont even know what they have anymore. Its so pathetic. Now my kids do have some of those toys and they even probably have too many toys. BUT they were all recycled.....meaning they were gently used and i will pass them on to someone else. Just like my daughters clothes. She is almost 6years old and we have not spent more than 400 dollars(in the entire 6years) on her entire wardrobe including shoes. Because we trade, use hand me downs, we e buy from thrift stores. And NO she doesnt look like some indigent child either.

I like people that THINK. Here are some ideas a friend shared with me to help you and me THINK of gifts to give without being wasteful pigs.
