Karma is a Pair of Crocs
I often notice that my husband and I seem to have less in common than more in common. He is very organized and relishes lists and schedules. I, on the other hand, am chronically losing things, forgetting about my bill reminders, and piling things up in the office instead of filing them. This exasperates him, I am sure. Luckily for me, after nine years together he has stopped pointing this all out to me on a regular basis.
The other day, though, I did feel that karma had slapped me in the face. Paul used to complain that I had a bad habit of taking my shoes off right by the front door as soon I walked in. After several days, several pairs of shoes would pile up leading to him walking around the house, shaking his head, muttering to myself. I always blamed the generally uncomfortable nature of work shoes. He didn’t buy it. But, he got his revenge… I now walk around the house, shake my head, and mutter to myself. Why? Because my girls take their shoes off and leave them all over the place. The other day I picked up seven pairs of shoes. Seven. Two in the living room, two in the family room, two in the bedroom, and even one pair in the hall bathroom. Crocs, sandals, tennis shoes, etc., etc. And that doesn’t even count the three pairs of my own shoes that were in a pile by the front door. 4 comments from 4 users

Good grief Crocs are Karma? I hope not ;) I personally have an extreme dislike of Crocs but not as extreme as these people: http://www.ihatecrocs.com I'd like to think Nikes, Eccos, Birkenstocks, Vans and Danskos are Karma in my house and they too are everywhere. :0 posted by

My husband complains loudly and often about my so-called "snail trail" of crap that I leave all over the house when I come home. He's a real peach about it: "Oh, where has Hillary been? I have NO idea!" So obnoxious.I can have Em come over and teach the girls how to put away shoes. She's obsessive about it. Of course, I can't claim that they'll get put in the right spot. I'm constantly finding my shoes in her room and vice versa. :) posted by

i feel your pain. my hub likes to pile up all his shoes around our bed. so in the middle of the night, it's always fun to trip on his huge shoe, swaying all over in my undies trying not to fall. nice.what about if you just gave them like 1 or 2 pairs each to have until they learned how to put them away?

Hahah, that's great. How about a "shoe basket" in each room? Do you think they'd put them in a basket right by the door? That seems like a good compromise.
I'm sure your husband is thrilled with tripping over three pairs of shoes now instead of 1. For the record, my son and I both stash ours under the coffee table. Drives my husband nuts!
