Adam

My family and I took a trip to the old Crest movie theater in downtown yesterday just to see the movie Adam (http://www.foxsearchlight.com/adam/).

It's a romantic comedy where the male protagonist has Aspergers Syndrome (the same as my son.) It was wonderful! My son and I both adored it (and almost cried many times.) My husband was wrung out by the end of it and found it a little draining and too emotional for him (but like I said, it's because our son is so much like the main character.)

It's only in town for a short time, but I highly recomend it. Pass it along to friends who have ASD kids (which I think most of us now know at least 1 family.)

Of course, the Crest is always such a treat! I hadn't seen a movie there in years. Know that the snack bar only takes cash, and you CAN get a full parking validation from the theater for local parking garages. Make sure you don't miss the small display case of old theater items from the restoration project.

Re: Adam

Creatress, I thought of you and your son when I read the review of this movie.  I probably won't make it to the Crest, but I'll put it in my Netflix queue when it comes out on DVD.  The last time I went to the Crest, I friend got married there.  It has a nice classic cinema feel.  Thanks for the recommendation, I'll pass it on to my friend who has a son with Aspergers.

Re: Adam

Thanks for thinking of me Kelly!
What a fun place for a wedding. Not the best part of town though. Poor Kst. Shops closed all over the place.
