California Montessori Project

does anyone have any experience with the california montessori project located on elk grove blvd?  we're considering it for our children next year, but don't know much about it.  i'd like to hear from anyone who has kids there or whose kids attended in the past.  i'm particularly interested in hearing about why you like or don't like the program.  also, i know there are programs in other areas (shingle springs, sacramento, etc.) and would be interested in hearing about those as well.  thanks.

Re: California Montessori Project

i would consider looking into WHO is running the program. I worked there a couple of years ago and things were so chaotic i really felt they were not taking care of their main priority. Thats the kids of course! I left in complete frustration as did 1/2 of the staff in a 12 month period. feel free to e-mail me with any further questions.
On a good note, some of the teachers there really did do a fantastic job reflecting the montessori program. The problem really lied with the administration. The teachers were the glue holding the schools together.

Re: California Montessori Project

My daughter goes to the school and has absolutely soared.  The students are allowed to advance on an individual basis on each individual subject.  My daughter reads at a 3rd grade level yet maintains her maturity and friends and is performing at grade level in other areas.  I like the people there and the system.  Their test scores are some of the highest in the district.
